BEIJING, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan said on Tuesday that the major policies of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese government will remain highly consistent, and this will provide more certainty and stability for the world.

Wang made the remarks via video link in a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the Bloomberg New Economy Forum held in Singapore.

In his speech, Wang called on countries to embrace the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind as global peace and development face increasing uncertainties.

Countries should work together to ensure common security, pursue mutual benefit and advance innovation, he said.

Wang called for implementing the Global Security Initiative to mitigate the peace and security deficit, as well as deepening high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, advancing the Global Development Initiative, ensuring the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and exploring new paths for global development.

The 20th CPC National Congress elected the new CPC central leadership with Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, at its core, and underscored advancing the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through a Chinese path to modernization, said Wang.

He said China will strive for common prosperity, continue to deepen high-standard opening-up, and stay committed to the path of peaceful development.

The country will uphold economic globalization and promote an open world economy that is shared by all, said Wang.

China remains committed to the equality of all countries regardless of size, strength or wealth, and will never seek hegemony or expansion, Wang said.

President Xi and U.S. President Joe Biden have just concluded a face-to-face meeting. China and the United States stand to gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation, Wang said, adding that the two countries should and must explore the right way to get along with each other in the new era.

It is hoped that the United States will work with China to bring their relations back onto the right track through mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation, Wang said.
