Infrastructure construction in Anhui promotes integration development of Yangtze River Delta

On June 28, 2020, the Shangqiu-Hefei-Hangzhou High-speed Railway was fully constructed; on December 22, 2020, the Hefei-Anqing high-speed railway opened to traffic, which marks all the 16 provincial cities in Anhui were connected to high-speed railway.

Now, a high-speed railway network centered on Hefei has been built in Anhui, with an operating mileage of more than 2430km, ranking among the top in the country.

On December 16, 2021, with the official opening of the Wu (Wuhu) Huang (Huangshan) Expressway, every county in Anhui Province had access to the expressway and the mileage of expressways in Anhui has exceeded 5,000 kilometers.

On the other hand, Anhui has accelerated the renovation of the main waterways of the Yangtze and Huaihe Rivers; the Jianghuai Canal is about to be completed, and the renovation of inter-provincial waterways such as the Wushen Canal, the Xinbian River, and the Shuiyang River has been basically completed.

Currently, the cargo throughput of the three ports of Wuhu, Ma'anshan and Chizhou has exceeded 100 million tons, and the container throughput of Wuhu Port has surpassed one million TEUs...

In recent years, Anhui Province has conscientiously implemented the requirements for the coordinated construction of an integrated and comprehensive transportation system in the Yangtze River Delta region, making the regional connection closer.
