On July 28, the first phase of the "Red Scarf Science Lecture" practice camp jointly organized by the Hefei Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, Hefei Association for Science and Technology, and the Hefei Municipal Working Committee of Young Pioneers was officially opened in the National Engineering Laboratory for Brain-inspired Intelligence Technology and Application (NEL-BITA). Nearly 40 young pioneers, including the "Red Scarf Three-Star Medal" winners, participated in the camp. "Why do we study the brain? How does the brain process information?" In the exhibition hall, questions from the docent inspired the "scientific and technological journey" of the young pioneers to approach brain-like science. Under the guidance of the docent, the young pioneers visited the themed exhibition areas of brain-like perceptual signal processing, brain-like visual semantic recognition, brain-like information processing mechanism and other areas in turn. Through a series of vivid and interesting stories and examples close to life, the docent popularized the principle of artificial intelligence and its application in daily life to the young pioneers. In the end, the docent took smart bolts and brain-like smart olfactory sensors as examples to introduce the industrial achievements of the brain-like laboratory and the future network laboratory to the young pioneers.

It is reported that during the summer vacation, the Hefei Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, relying on the first batch of Off-campus Practice Educational Base of the Young Pioneers in Hefei and the Hefei Municipal Working Committee of Young Pioneers, extensively carried out the voluntary actions of "Red Scarf Instructor" and "Community Young Master" as well as "Red Scarf Science Lecture" and other social practice activities. This time, the "Red Scarf Science Lecture" is carried out in city, county (district), and street (community) three levels through the method of "offline observation class + online live class + on-site teaching in the base." Around a hundred science popularization activities were conducted simultaneously, introducing the significant scientific and technological achievements in China, especially the scientific knowledge behind the essential scientific and technical achievements of Hefei in recent years. Relying on the off-campus practice educational base of the Young Pioneers and the team of off-campus counselors, it will make full use of the talents; guide the Young Pioneers of the city to feel the achievements of scientific and technological development in their hometown in practice, to know the development goals of Hefei being a pioneer in scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation, and to follow the guidance of the Party.
