Accompanied by the sound of a steam whistle, a returning China-Europe freight train (Hefei) slowly entered Hefeibei Station. This was Hefei's first returning China-Europe freight train of 2024. The train carried 80 TEUs loaded with coffee roasters, hinges, sound-absorbing cotton, cigarette paper, glass fiber hoses, polytetrafluoroethylene, and other goods. Departing from Germany, it successfully arrived after a 22-day journey.

With the strong support of Luzhou Customs, this returning China-Europe freight train adopted a port transshipment model, avoiding the congestion risks associated with port inspections. This significantly promoted the efficiency of customs clearance for imported goods at the port, reduced logistics costs for businesses, and further optimized the business environment at the port. 

Data indicates that many shippers are shifting from maritime transport to rail transport, and as an important route, the demand for freight volume on the China-Europe freight train has significantly increased.
