Deepwater port is 'setting sail'

On December 5th, in Zhengpu Port New Area of Ma'anshan City, the only 10,000-ton deepwater port north of the Yangtze River in Anhui Province - Zhengpu Port, cargo ships shuttle back and forth, gantry cranes lift and move, creating a bustling scene. At the same time, containers from Anhui Feiyuan International Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd are being loaded onto trucks and driven to the stack yard of Zhengpu Port. These containers will be hoisted onto ships for export to various countries abroad.

"We have undertaken the logistics business of importing raw materials from abroad for many enterprises in Ma'anshan Comprehensive Bonded Zone. Container trucks enter and exit the zone hundreds of times a day, and the exported products mainly include white goods, train wheels, etc." said Xing Liang, general manager of Anhui Feiyuan International Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. 

Up to now, Zhengpu Port has handled about 1.84 million tons of bulk cargo. From January to November 2023, it has handled about 40,000 TEUs of container throughput, with a year-on-year increase of 106.19%.

The foreign trade logistics channels in the comprehensive bonded zone have also been fully expanded, which has reduced the operating costs of enterprises and accelerated the establishment of advantageous industries and functional platforms in the comprehensive bonded zone. In the first half of this year, foreign trade imports and exports reached $1 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 64.1%.

Interconnection through "road"

Recently, the main tower Z3 pier of Ma'anshan Yangtze River Bridge for both highway and railway began to hang the stay cables, which marks that this world's largest three-tower cable-stayed bridge has entered a new stage of stay cable hanging and cantilever construction of steel girder. After the completion of Chaohu-Ma'anshan Intercity Railway Project, it will facilitate the travel of people along the line. It is of great significance for fully integrating into the Yangtze River Delta, and continuously improving the level of transportation interconnection between Ma'anshan, Nanjing, Hefei and other surrounding cities.
