Accelerating the construction of an intelligent and green manufacturing powerhouse, this decision made at the 5th Plenary Session of the 11th Provincial Party Committee has accurately grasped the new orientation of "Made in Anhui", the new connotation of new industrialization, and the new trend of world manufacturing development. It is based on a profound practical foundation and the background of the times. The strength of "Made in Anhui" has improved significantly compared to the past. In the past five years, the average annual growth rate of industrial added value above the scale in Anhui was 7.8%, ranking fourth in the country. In the 2022 National High-quality Development Report on Manufacturing Industry, Anhui ranked sixth in the country. Ten percent of the world's laptops, 20% of LCD screens and 50% of photovoltaic glass are produced in Anhui. Twenty percent of China's photovoltaic modules, 15% of household appliances and 10% of new energy vehicles are "Made in Anhui". As the manufacturing industry with the longest chain, the widest coverage and the strongest economic driving force, the automotive industry is an important window for observing the comprehensive strength of the manufacturing industry, and it is also the leading industry that Anhui focuses on. In the first half of this year, China's auto exports reached 2.341 million vehicles, exceeding Japan for the first time and ranking first in the world. "Made in Anhui" accounts for a quarter of China's total autoexports, contributing greatly to the historic achievements of China's automotive industry. Surprisingly, the automotive industry in Anhui is also growing at a much faster rate than the national average. From January to August this year, the added value of Anhui's auto industry above the scale increased by 43.2%, its business income increased by 45.8%, and its profits increased by 285.6%, with growth rates 31.5 percentage points, 34.9 percentage points and 283.2 percentage points higher than the national average respectively. The ascendant period characterized by accumulated strength, strong momentum, and great potential is the judgment of Anhui Provincial Party Committee on the current development stage of the province. The changes in the manufacturing industry are the best proof of this judgment. After decades of efforts, from a major agricultural province to an emerging industrial province, and then to a strong manufacturing province, Anhui's rise has reached an important juncture. Broadening our horizons, China's industry and "Made in China" are also at a critical stage of becoming bigger and stronger. Across the world, a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is accelerating, leading to a deep adjustment of global industrial structure and layout. To enhance the position of "Made in China" in the industrial chain and value chain, it is necessary to accelerate high-end upgrading; to improve production efficiency, product quality, and comprehensive benefits, it is necessary to accelerate intlligent transformation; and to improve the level of efficient and circular utilization of resources, it is necessary to accelerate the green transformation.
