In 2022, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Ma'anshan City, Anhui Province, reached 252.1 billion yuan, with a growth rate of 4.6%, ranked the third in Anhui Province and the fifth in the Yangtze River Delta region. On the morning of July 13th, the reporter visited Zhengpu Port New District in Ma'anshan City. Zhengpu Port New District was established on January 4th, 2012, with a total area of 225 square kilometers. 
"We currently have more than 30 Ph.D. holders and one postdoctoral researcher," said the representative of the Ma'anshan Nanjing University High-tech Research Institute. The research institute was established through cooperation between Zhengpu Port New District and Nanjing University. It is a technological innovation platform integrating the technological talent advantages of Nanjing University and the industrial characteristics of Zhengpu Port New District, aiming to achieve industrialization of research outcomes in the new area. 
In Zhengpu Port New District, there is also a privately-owned electronics technology company called Anhui FOJAN Electronics, with an annual output value of up to 180 million yuan. The company specializes in the design, development, production, and sales of thick-film chip resistors. "The monthly production capacity of the first phase of resistors can reach 10 billion units, and the plan is to reach 60 billion units by the end of 2024," said He Haijun, the company's executive director. 
"Last year, the output value was 27 million yuan, and in the first half of this year, it was 50 million yuan," said Di Junwei, the manager of the production department at Anhui Guojie New Energy. The company specializes in the research and manufacturing of power-type lithium-ion batteries, which are applicable in areas such as cordless drills, garden tools, electric bicycles, unmanned aircraft, and new energy electric vehicles. Its annual production capacity reaches 100 million units, and its products are mainly sold in Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and other regions. 
In addition to the operating companies, there are also emerging stars under construction in Zhengpu Port New District. At the Zoomlion Intelligent Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park, workers are working intensively to meet the construction deadline. This factory, with a total investment of 6 billion yuan and a total construction area of 500,000 square meters, is expected to be completed by the end of this year. After its completion, it is estimated that it will produce 5,000 units of intelligent engineering machinery, such as rotary drilling rigs, tunnel boring machines, and pile drivers, with an estimated annual sales revenue of 15 billion yuan. 
Today, the development level of Zhengpu Port New District has entered the forefront of Anhui Province's development zones. In the first three quarters of this year, the new area successfully signed 47 industrial projects, with a total investment of 22.37 billion yuan.
