The delivery industry is gearing up for the upcoming Singles Day shopping festival with recruitment demand rising 69.27 percent year-on-year in the third quarter, Beijing Youth Daily reported on Thursday.

To attract delivering talents, some companies are offering as high as 500 yuan ($69.42) daily salary on job advertisement and monthly payment ranging from 9,000 to 15,000 yuan, the report said.

Both online and offline recruitment methods have been made to hire delivery talents in neighborhoods for precise delivery.

Internal recommendation is also encouraged and those who successfully recommend a suitable talent will get a 200 to 300 yuan reward and if the recommended talent can work for two months, the recommender can get another red envelope as a reward.

Data shows Cainiao Network will add 100,000 temporary workers during the Singles Day shopping festival gala to ensure the parcels can be delivered directly to the homes of the customers.

The peak season for express delivery business this year is expected to last 82 days, which starts from early November and ends before the eve of the Spring Festival in 2023, according to the China Express Association.

STO Express is expected to witness an 80 percent increase in daily vehicle departures and the company will add nearly 500 more direct routes during the peak season.

Cainiao Network is projected to have over 4 million square meters of additional warehouses in more than 20 cities across the country in the same period, including epidemic backup warehouses to support emergency storage within seven days.
