The reporter learned from the provincial and municipal postal administration departments yesterday that after Hefei's express business volume surpassed that of Nanjing last year, in the first seven months of this year, Anhui's express delivery business volume has surpassed that of Shanghai, ranking 8th in the country. Among them, Hefei had a strong growth rate in July, the total industry scale increased by 39.06% year-on-year, and the business volume increased by 60.97% year-on-year, 3 times and 5.4 times the growth rate of the previous month, respectively, ranking first among cities in the Yangtze River Delta with over one-trillion of GDP. Statistics released by the Hefei Postal Administration show that in July this year, the business income of postal enterprises and express service companies in Hefei (excluding the direct revenue of the Postal Savings Bank of China) reached 1.154 billion yuan (about 168 million U.S. dollars), a year-on-year increase of 35.64%, and the total business volume reached 1.487 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 39.06%, of which the express service companies completed 157 million deliveries, a year-on-year increase of 60.97%. According to the relevant person in charge of the Market Supervision Office of the Hefei Post Administration, benefiting from the social stability of Hefei and the government's policies to help ease enterprises' burden, since May, the single-month delivery volume of Hefei's express business has returned to the 100 million pieces level and achieved a strong growth in July. Due to the opening of colleges and secondary technical schools in September and the approaching of "double 11" and "double 12" e-commerce festivals, the peak season of Hefei's express delivery industry generally starts in September and lasts until the Spring Festival. This year, a substantial acceleration phase began in July.
