Anhui’s gross domestic product (GDP) reached 3.19 trillion yuan (US$498.92 billion) in the first three quarters of 2021, up 10.2 percent from the same period a year ago, the Anhui Provincial Bureau of Statistics said at a press conference on Thursday.
The growth brought the province to the sixth place in China, up one notch from the first half of the year. Between January and September, the value-added output of the primary sector rose 9.7 percent to 193.24 billion yuan, that of the secondary sector increased 10.8 percent to 1.34 trillion yuan, and that of the tertiary sector came in at 1.65 trillion yuan, up 9.8 percent. The province’s industrial value-added output went up 13.3 percent. The growth rate of high-tech enterprises reached 35.1 percent. Strategic emerging industries grew 28.9 percent. Fixed-asset investment rose 10.4 percent during the first nine months this year, 0.2 percentage point higher than the increase in the first half of the year. Retail sales stood at 1.59 trillion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 22 percent. The province’s foreign trade value totaled 499.41 billion yuan, up 25.8 percent year-on-year. Imports hit 208.05 billion yuan, up 25.3 percent, while exports reached 291.36 billion yuan, up 26.2 percent. Fiscal revenue grew 14.4 percent to 280.94 billion yuan, while fiscal expenditure reached 581.86 billion yuan, an increase of 3.9 percent. Urban residents' per capita disposable income reached 32,603 yuan, up 10.1 percent, while rural residents’ per capta disposable income rose 11.3 percent to 13,988 yuan.
