Anhui province is home to 117 development zones, ranking 9th in China, local authorities said citing a catalogue of Chinese development zones.
The province accounted for 4.6 percent of the country’s total development zones, said the Department of Commerce.
There are 22 state-level development zones across the province, or 3.9 percent of the national total. That brings Anhui to the 9th spot among 31 provincial-level regions in the country.
In breakdown, the province houses 12 national economic and technological development zones, ranking 4th in China and following Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shandong provinces.
It took the 12th place in the country in terms of the number of national hi-tech industrial develpment zone, which reaches 6.
The rest four are areas under special customs supervision.
95 development zones are at the provincial level, bringing the province to the 8th in China.
