A manufacturing-themed subway train made its debut on Monday in Hefei, capital of East China’s Anhui province, where a world manufacturing summit is slated to kick off on Friday.
The World Manufacturing Convention 2018 and the Anhui Investment and Trade Expo 2018 will be held together in the city between May 25 and 27.
Hefei Metro Transport Co.worked together with the Hefei Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology to launch the manufacturing-themed train service on the first subway line in the provincial capital, in a bid to create warm atmosphere for the meetings, show the city’s remarkable achievements in manufacturing and present outstanding local manufacturers.
Red is the major color of the inner decorations of all the six carriages. What the train demonstrates falls into two parts: one about the manufacturing sector’s achievements and blueprints, and the other featuring some outstanding enterprises including BOE, JAC and iFlytek.
In 2017, the city was made a pilot city for the country’s Made in China 2025 initiative.
Sponsored by the Anhui provincial government, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and Global Alliance of SMEs, the World Manufacturing Convention 2018 will attract almost 80 companies listed on the Fortune Global 500.
As of Monday, up to 4,096 people were confirmed as participants, including 20 foreign former political leaders and heads of international organizations, 8 Chinese officials at the ministry level, 7 at the provincial level and heads of 58 overseas Fortune Global 500 companies as well as 50 domestic ones.
