On November 23, the right line of Hefei Metro Line 8 Phase 1 project from Longhu north Road Station to Beicheng High-speed Rail Station was successfully completed. At this point, the whole tunnel of Line 8 Phase 1 has been fully completed and is about to enter the track laying and electromechanical construction phase. 
Since the construction began in 2020, the first phase of Hefei Metro Line 8 has overcome various risks such as passing through high-pressure gas pipelines, railway track groups, and railway bridge piles. The successful completion of this tunneling work lays a solid foundation for the early operation of the entire line. It is reported that the surrounding environment and geological conditions of Line 8 Phase 1 are complex and diverse. Since its commencement, a total of 24 shield tunnel boring machine (shield TBM) have been deployed by the participating units, and after a total duration of 856 days, the shield tunneling task was successfully completed. 
In addition, the main substation of Hefei Metro Line 8 Phase 1 has recently officially entered the construction phase. As the first line in Anhui Province to adopt automatic unmanned driving technology, Line 8 Phase 1 needs to carry out commissioning three months earlier than traditional lines. The main substation serves as the "energy supply station" for metro operation, and relevant departments will firmly promote the project construction.
