Life in Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has been gradually returning to normal.

With COVID-19 control measures in place, the city has restored public transport in a gradual and orderly manner starting from Nov. 28.

More and more private cars appear on roads. Car owners in Urumqi are busy with changing snow tire, as the city has experienced days of snow.

Urumqi has also resumed the operations of essential businesses in low-risk areas, including supermarkets, pharmacies and restaurants.

The city's courier sector has also seen an accelerated recovery.

Amid COVID-19 measures, businesses at Urumqi's scenic spots have begun to pick up.
