Recently, the National Standardization Administration of China (SAC) released China's first six recommended national standards for humanoid robots, which will come into force on April 1, 2027. Led by the National Technical Committee for Robot Standardization, the set of standards includes the General Specifications for Technical Requirements of Humanoid Robots, as well as provisions on environmental perception, decision-making and planning, motion control, manipulation and operation, and simulation test platforms. Filling the gap in China's national standards for humanoid robots, they mark that the country's humanoid robot industry has entered a new phase of coordinated development guided by standards, driven by innovation and focused on real-world deployment. As a core new-type R&D institution for humanoid robots in Anhui, the Jianghuai Advanced Technology Center (Jianghuai Laboratory) has partnered with Anhui-based universities including Hefei University of Technology and Anhui University, together with industry players such as Zerith, JEE Technology and Openmind Intelligence. Drawing on its long-standing research footprint in humanoid robotics, the center has participated in the full development of all six standards. It translates frontline research breakthroughs into standard clauses, helping ensure the scientific soundness, advanced nature and practicality of the full set of national standards. The integration of technical practices and standard provisions sets a unified technical benchmark for the R&D, performance evaluation, simulation verification and scenario-based application of complete humanoid robots, and facilitates pilot deployments in industrial production, household services and other scenarios. Taking the formulation of these national standards as an opportunity, Anhui will continue to encourage local research platforms and innovation entities to engage deeply in developing national-level standards, seize the right to speak on standards in cutting-edge fields, and contribute Anhui's strength to the standardized and high-quality development of the national humanoid robot industry.
