Recently, two blue intelligent driverless buses have been shuttling through Hefei Baohe Economic Development Zone. At the Zhongguancun Collaborative Innovation Park site, some citizens waited to scan the code for a test ride.

The reporter learned from the government of Baohe District, Hefei City, on the 19th that the Anhui's first self-driving 5G+C-V2X public transportation project on open roads has started operation.

According to the person in charge of the project in CICTCI, the total mileage of the two-way route is 15 kilometers, passing through 6 stations, including Zhongguancun Station, the north side of Jiugao Station, the north side of Chaodongying Station, the south side of Huayuan Station, the south side of the Provincial Urban Construction Design Institute Station and the north side of Dawei Town Government Station.

According to the timetable, the smart buses provide shuttle services for employees of enterprises along the route during morning and evening peak hours (8:00-9:00, 17:00-18:00) on weekdays. During other periods, citizens can make appointments to experience the service through WeChat mini-programs.

"Actually, it has been on the road since August and September last year, and it has been in trial running for several months. The vehicle is improving little by little through continuous deep learning and algorithm optimization." The project's technical director introduced, "In the beginning, there were indeed sudden stops. The more it runs, the more experience it accumulates. Now the driving skills of intellect buses are equivalent to those of drivers with two or three years of driving experience."
