The pied avocets fly on the shore of Chaohu Lake On December 6, a large number of rare birds—the pied avocets (Recurvirostra avosetta) were spotted in the Huatang River of the Chaohu Peninsula wetland. Groups of pied avocet sometimes spread their wings, dance in the air, and sometimes bend over in the shallows to peck, bringing vitality to the wetland in winter.

More than 200 pied avocets are observed this time, which is also the most found in this wetland in recent years. They have different shapes in flight, and the scene is very astounding. The pied avocet likes to live in groups and is named for its unique upcurved beak. It feeds mainly on small invertebrates such as small crustaceans, aquatic insects, insect larvae, worms, and mollusks.

As a result, the bird species and the number of birds that come to inhabit and reproduce are also increasing.
