On December 27, the Anhui Provincial Federation of Trade Unions awarded 100 craftsmen with the title "Craftsmen of Anhui 2021".
Among the 100 "Craftsmen of Anhui", 62 of them have obtained 1,018 patents of various categories, including 242 invention patents owned by 45 people, 676 utility model patents owned by 52 people, and 100 appearance design patents owned by 8. Aside from that, 62 title winners have won prizes in skill competitions at or above the provincial level (2 international, 35 national, and 25 provincial). Some of these “100 Craftsmen” are the top leaders of their professional field in China or even in the world; some played backbone roles in the development of the first pieces (sets) of crucial high-tech equipment or significant technological breakthroughs; some are highly skilled talents in Anhui’s key emerging industries of strategic importance, such as the new generation of information technology, artificial intelligence, new energy, intelligent connected vehicle (ICV), and intelligent manufacturing; some are tech aces from machinery, electricity, steel, construction, and other traditional industries.
The principles of the “Craftsmen of Anhui” selection are innovation driven, technique-oriented, focusing on key industries and targeting front-line workers. Started in June, it eventually chose Zhou Feng and other 100 outstanding technicians from 818 candidates through a strict and standardized process from self or recommended application, expert evaluation, collective decision, to public disclosure. The award aims at cultivating a group of competent specialists and industry leaders who can make great contributions to their own domain as well as the entire society.
