On August 13, the 2026 China-Korea Youth Go Exchange Tournament and World Champion Invitational kicked off at Tangmo Ancient Village in Huizhou District, Huangshan City, Anhui Province. Nearly 150 outstanding young players from China and South Korea came together through Go for five days of competition and cultural exchange.

The event features two core competitions: the Youth Team Competition and the World Champion Invitational. On the board, young players competed with composure and determination. Off the board, Go world champions from China and South Korea took to the board for high-level matches, adding star power to the event.

The event is more than a contest of Go skills; it also serves as a bridge of friendship. It integrates Huizhou’s rich cultural and tourism resources, creating a distinctive “Go + cultural tourism” experience. The ancient game of Go is taking on new vitality amid the landscapes of southern Anhui, opening a new chapter in people-to-people and cultural exchanges between Chinese and South Korean youth.
