Last December, the news that Anhui’s auto exports exceeded one million units between January and November 2025 made headlines. This year, Anhui set a new record in hitting the one-million export milestone. In the first half of the year, vehicle exports topped one million units, five months earlier than last year.

The shift from hitting one million exports in a full year to achieving the target within six months marks far more than a change in timeline. It vividly demonstrates how Anhui’s automotive industry has advanced from merely “going global” to expanding overseas steadily and sustainably.

Alongside export volume growth, local brands are accelerating their global outreach. In the first half of the year, Anhui exported 892,000 self-brand vehicles, a year-on-year surge of 110%, valued at RMB 938.7 billion, also rising by 110%. The growth rates of export volume and value were 99.7 and 95.9 percentage points higher respectively compared with the same period last year.

Meanwhile, Anhui is rapidly tapping into emerging markets. In the first half of the year, the province exported 192,000 vehicles to Latin America, up 82.5%. Exports to Brazil alone reached 82,000 units, an increase of 140%. Strong market demand was also seen in Russia, the United Kingdom and Italy, with export growth of 190%, 240% and 230% respectively.
