On the afternoon of June 28, the inauguration ceremony of the Yangtze River Delta Technology Outcome Concept Verification Center and a closed-door seminar for the exchange and promotion of scientific and technological achievements were held at the 1986 Innovation Park in Shushan District, Hefei. Representatives from scientific research institutions, industrial alliances and investment bodies across the Yangtze River Delta gathered to witness this milestone event for the commercialization of research outcomes in the region. The launch of the center serves as a vital link for the efficient connection between technology transfer and industrial incubation in Anhui’s life science sector. It will also deliver core support to Shushan District in accelerating the development of the "123X" modern industrial system and bolstering emerging industries including life health and high-end medical devices.
The integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta has entered an in-depth advancement phase. Building a regional science and innovation community requires shifting from macro-level strategic coordination to tangible implementation and professional operation. Against this backdrop, multiple organizations including the Jiangsu Medical and Healthcare Industry Alliance, the Medical Device Innovation Center of Lingang New Area in China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Anhui Health, Culture and Tourism Industry Promotion Association, and Nanjing Institute of Translational Medicine jointly initiated the establishment of the Yangtze River Delta Technology Outcome Concept Verification Center based on the Hefei Technology Outcome Concept Verification Center. As a key platform for research commercialization in the regional life health industry, the Hefei center specializes in outcome verification and industrialization services. It has built solid operational capacity and rich cross-regional practical experience, and developed a standardized and replicable service system for technology transfer, laying a solid foundation for the interconnected sharing of innovation resources and project rollout across the Yangtze River Delta. Concept verification marks the critical step for laboratory research to reach the marketplace, widely known as the "first mile" of commercialization. The newly inaugurated center will keep its focus on biomedicine and medical devices. It will integrate scientific research, clinical and capital resources from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui to shorten the timeline for research results to move from laboratories to clinical application. During the event, the center signed cooperation agreements with the Translational Application Joint Laboratory of the National Human Genome Research Center (North) and Hefei Hongyi Hongke Enterprise Management Co., Ltd. The launch of the center represents another major initiative by Shushan District to deepen cross-regional innovation collaboration and accelerate the translation of scientific and technological achievements.
