On June 16, the First Anhui Solid-State Battery Industry Innovation and Development Conference was held in Hefei. Hosted by the Anhui Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and co-organized by the Hefei Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, Anhui New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry Development Association and Anhui Automobile Industry Association, the conference gathered participants to explore cutting-edge technologies, discuss major industrial plans, draw blueprints for growth, and jointly boost the innovative development of the solid-state battery industry.

Dong Yang, Chairman of the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance, and Shi Li, Deputy Director of the Anhui Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, attended the conference and delivered speeches. More than 120 representatives took part in the event, including officials from provincial authorities of development and reform, science and technology, finance, market regulation and other relevant departments, staff from municipal bureaus of industry and information technology across the province, as well as representatives from universities, research institutes, financial institutions and upstream and downstream enterprises along the solid-state battery industrial chain.

In his speech, Shi Li pointed out that solid-state batteries are universally recognized as the next-generation batteries by the industry. The sector is now at a critical stage where rapid technological breakthroughs from scratch are being translated into productive forces, standing on the verge of explosive growth.

At present, key enterprises, universities and research institutes in Anhui are speeding up R&D tackling and industrial layout, with continuous breakthroughs in core technologies, putting the province among the national leaders in overall development level.

He stressed that fostering and developing the solid-state battery industry can not only consolidate and elevate Anhui’s leading edge in the new energy vehicle and power battery sectors, but also fuel innovative growth of low-altitude economy, robotics, consumer electronics, energy storage, shipping and other industries. It represents a strategic move to seize the commanding heights of science, technology and industry and secure development initiative, as well as an inevitable requirement for developing new quality productive forces and building a modern industrial system.

At the conference venue, the Anhui Solid-State Battery Industry Alliance was officially inaugurated, marking a new milestone in the development of Anhui’s solid-state battery industry.
