On June 12, a press conference for Anhui's "Ancient Trail Trek" was held at Renli Village, Anhui Province.

It is reported that Anhui boasts abundant remains of ancient trails. A preliminary inventory has identified 196 trails stretching over 1,500 kilometers in total. Anhui is further tapping into its ancient trail resources to develop the "Ancient Trail Trek" cultural tour. Dispersed trail sites will be linked under a unified brand logo. Twenty routes have been rolled out in the first batch, with another forty to follow. The province strives to integrate its profound cultural heritage with modern demands for hiking and leisure, transforming ancient trails from historical relics into cultural calling cards and drivers of local development.

Centered on cultural appeal, consumption stimulation and brand promotion, the Anhui "Ancient Trail Trek" cultural tour kicked off in March this year. Three sub-events have been successfully hosted along Ruoling Ancient Trail in Shexian County, Huihang Ancient Trail in Jixi County and Huirao Ancient Trail in Xiuning County. A coordinated product system covering mountains, towns, villages, scenic spots and trails has taken shape, alongside an all-day consumption experience featuring daytime hiking and nighttime sightseeing. The initiative has drawn hiking enthusiasts from more than 20 provinces, with total participants exceeding 50,000. It has boosted cultural and tourism consumption along the trails by over 21 million yuan across the industrial chain.

At present, cities and counties across Anhui are advancing the revitalization and utilization of ancient trails. Jixi County, a national historical and cultural city connected by ancient trails, will coordinate its scenic areas and ancient villages to explore a development model of "ancient trails + ancient villages + Huizhou cuisine". Qingliu Pass in Chuzhou prioritizes heritage protection empowered by technology to deliver immersive cultural experiences, rolling out themed routes for hiking, fruit picking and stargazing study tours. Focusing on rural homestays, distinctive local cuisine and cultural experiences, Xiuning County is advancing in-depth integration between ancient trail resources and rural cultural tourism sectors in an all-round way.
