On the afternoon of December 4, the unveiling and commissioning ceremony for the Hong Kong Polytechnic University — Hefei Technology and Innovation Research Institute was held in Hefei.

In recent years, Hefei has vigorously promoted deep integration between education and talent pipelines and industrial and innovation chains. It has co-established 57 new R&D institutions with renowned domestic universities and research institutes, incubated and nurtured a large number of tech enterprises, and turned these new R&D institutions into powerful pillars driving Hefei's high-quality development.

The unveiling and commissioning of the institute marks a new step forward in the collaborative construction between Hefei and Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and is of significant importance for enhancing Hefei’s innovation capacity and advancing the city’s internationalization.

Looking ahead, the institute will further leverage its strengths to collaborate on technological breakthroughs and industrial incubation in areas such as deep-space exploration, biomedicine, and precision sensing, striving to become an "accelerator" for technology transfer, an "overpass" for industry–education integration, and a "forward base" for international cooperation.

This event will further deepen the close ties between Hefei and Hong Kong Polytechnic University, expand pragmatic cooperation across more fields, and jointly realize mutual empowerment and win–win outcomes.

At the event, an expert committee appointment ceremony and the signing ceremony for the first batch of collaborative projects were held; the projects cover multiple domains including aerospace information and biomedicine.
