The 2025 World Manufacturing Convention is about to kick off in Hefei. "To invest in Anhui is to invest in the future" — this is no longer just a slogan, but a shared conviction among numerous foreign enterprises.  

According to the conference press briefing, this year will see attendees including government officials, corporate representatives, heads of international organizations, and chamber/business association leaders from over 40 countries and regions. Notably, international guests will account for more than half of all participants.

In 2024, Anhui's industries above designated size generated revenue totaling ¥5.5 trillion RMB, with strategic emerging sectors contributing 43.6%—reflecting ongoing structural optimization. 

In recent years, foreign capital has intensified its focus on China's emerging industries, accelerating cross-border flows of innovative factors like capital, talent, and technology. This trend fosters deeper scientific collaboration globally, cultivates a more sophisticated open innovation ecosystem within China.

Embracing openness as its defining feature, the convention has invited Slovakia to serve as Guest Country of Honor. A high-level delegation from Slovakia will attend to deepen and expand manufacturing cooperation between China and Slovakia. Attendees include government officials, corporate leaders, heads of international organizations, and chamber/business association representatives from over 40 countries and regions—with international guests comprising more than half of all participants. The event will host signature activities highlighting global elements to facilitate deeper, broader economic and trade collaboration, expanding the "circle of friends" for international  manufacturing partnerships.

This year's convention centers on China's strategy for building a manufacturing powerhouse and Anhui's achievements under the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) for industrial development. Ten comprehensive exhibition zones will showcase national and provincial manufacturing accomplishments from all angles. Market-oriented expos—including robotics and industrial automation pavilions, digital economy displays, and machinery equipment halls—will run parallel to foster commercial negotiations. Additionally, an interactive zone at Luogang Park will demonstrate cutting-edge unmanned systems technology, allowing visitors to experience drone flights and autonomous vehicle test drives firsthand, enhancing engagement through immersive encounters with intelligent manufacturing innovations. 

To date, organizers have identified 932 preliminary signed projects with a total investment of RMB 424.6 billion. Anhui is strategically advancing traditional industry upgrades while nurturing emerging sectors and future-oriented industries through open ecosystems. This dual approach of "going global" and attracting foreign investment propels Anhui's manufacturing sector toward higher levels of competitiveness and capability.
