Anhui has been continuously strengthening joint scientific research and the division of labor with Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang, leveraging its high-quality development to support technological innovation and industrial upgrading across the Yangtze River Delta.

In JAC Group’s laboratory for integrated development of new-energy power domain, a technical team from the Yangtze River Delta Automotive Low-Carbon and Intelligent Technology Innovation Consortium—led by JAC Group—is working on overcoming key core technologies. As the lead organization, JAC has pooled research strengths from Tongji University, Anhui University of Science and Technology and other Yangtze River Delta institutions, together with key parts manufacturers across the automotive supply chain in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui, to conduct joint research. The consortium’s collaborative innovation has produced R&D progress that exceeded expectations.

A relevant official said the consortium effectively breaks regional barriers and promotes efficient sharing and coordinated use of critical innovation elements such as talent, equipment and data, laying a solid foundation for rapid technological iteration and commercialization of results. Thanks to upgrades in intelligent sensing, decision-making and information-interaction capabilities, whole-vehicle energy consumption has been reduced by 30% and power performance has improved by 35%.

As institutional arrangements for Yangtze River Delta integration continue to improve, interprovincial cooperation is being reinvigorated. Deepened pairings between the eight northern Anhui cities and Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang have led to operation of “7+3” cooperative parks. The Lu’an–Songjiang Modern Industrial Park has taken the lead in creating cross-provincial fiscal revenue-sharing and statistical data allocation mechanisms. Upgrades to new functional zones in neighboring cross-provincial areas—such as Dingshan–Chahe, Pukou–Nanqiao, and Jiangning–Bowang—are underway, and innovative practices keep emerging, including seamless interchange between Nanjing–Chuzhou intercity services, and integrated layouts for the integrated-circuit industry. Xuancheng City has even been included in the Shanghai metropolitan area's planning framework, accelerating construction of the Yangtze River Delta (Xuancheng) Industrial Cooperation Zone.

In the first seven months of this year, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang had 3,386 projects of over 100 million yuan each under construction in Anhui, with actual funds in place totaling 466.25 billion yuan—accounting for 60% of funds arriving from projects based outside the province.
