Jointly organized by the Publicity Department of Anhui Provincial Committee, Anhui Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Foreign Affairs Office of Anhui Provincial People's Government, Anhui Provincial Department of Commerce, and Anhui Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the third season of "Great Shows in Anhui" — a premium performance exhibition project combined with cultural benefit initiatives to boost consumption — will be spectacularly staged at Anhui Baixi Cheng and Hefei Baohe Phoenix Theatre every evening at 19:30 from August 11 to 20, 2025. As an annual cultural public welfare brand event, this season will present innovative settings and diverse formats to offer audiences a feast of intellectual depth and artistic excellence during summer vacation, continuously driving the integration of culture with tourism and upgrading cultural consumption patterns.    

Since its launch earlier this year under the guiding principle of "year-round performances with seasonal highlights," the "Great Shows in Anhui" series has become a shining cultural landmark for public welfare in Anhui. The inaugural season themed "Joyful Spring Festival Celebrations" integrated seven major segments, attracting over 4.72 million online and offline viewers while generating more than 33.86 million topic views across social platforms and reaching 152,000 international users through global promotion—invigorating new vitality into Lunar New Year cultural consumption. The second season titled "Paying Tribute to Classics: Resonant Voices of Fengming" focused on Labor Day holidays, drawing over 7,000 theatergoers to six Huangmei Opera performances and supporting activities. With livestream clicks exceeding 2.8 million and topic views surpassing 71 million online, it significantly amplified the brand's influence.

The upcoming third-season event, leveraging the newly inaugurated Anhui Baixi Cheng, stays true to its mission of benefiting the public while embracing innovative traditions—boasting an array of highlights.

This curated selection features seven premium productions spanning diverse genres including drama, Huangmei Opera, Huaibei Bangzi (a local opera style), Lu opera, and musical theater. It showcases both timeless classics performed by provincial troupes and groundbreaking original works by municipal ensembles, fully demonstrating Anhui's vibrant multidimensional stage artistry.  

At the public areas of Anhui Baixi Cheng, a large-scale cultural bazaar integrating artistic experience with consumer engagement will launch in tandem. This vibrant marketplace brings together curated elements including books, intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, creative cultural products, and local cuisine, offering visitors an all-in-one opportunity to immerse themselves in the multifaceted charm of Anhui culture between theater performances. 

Concurrently launched is the "Hundred Huangmei Opera Performances Echo Through Hundred Scenic Sites" initiative. Curated classic excerpts from Huangmei Opera will be staged residency-style at major provincial attractions, creating seamless experiences blending theater viewing, sightseeing, and consumer spending. During this period, multiple regions will roll out summer travel incentives including discounted admission fees, hotel package deals, and other benefits—further igniting tourism consumption vitality.  

According to organizers, Season Three of "Great Shows in Anhui" will continuously polish its cultural brand while fostering sustainable win-win mechanisms. From revolutionary history-themed artistic expressions to immersive cultural encounters, from live stage performances to digital dissemination, the multifaceted approach will energize Anhui's cultural tourism economy.
