In the first half of this year, Anhui's automobile output reached 1.4995 million vehicles, including 730,900 new energy vehicles (NEVs), ranking first in China for both categories. 

Across the Jianghuai region, the province has established an integrated automotive industry development framework featuring dual-core synergy between Hefei and Wuhu, supported by multiple cities. Driven by technological and industrial innovation, Anhui continues to enhance product competitiveness and expand its market presence. 

From an industrial perspective, the collaborative effect of the "Hefei-Wuhu" dual-core engine is becoming increasingly prominent.  

Hefei is striving to build itself into the "Capital of New Energy Vehicles." Its NEV production surged from 145,000 units in 2021 to 1.376 million in 2024, nearly a tenfold increase in three years. The city has now gathered six automakers and over 500 upstream and downstream enterprises.

Currently, Anhui has gathered seven major automakers, including Chery Group, NIO, Volkswagen Anhui, BYD Hefei, JAC Group, Changan Hefei, and CAMC, with a comprehensive product lineup covering passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and specialized vehicles. The province boasts a well-developed industrial chain, supported by over 1,100 auto parts manufacturers above designated size. 

In 2024, Hefei and Wuhu together accounted for 74.8% of the province's automotive industry chain growth.  

Under the "dual-core" influence, other cities in Anhui are leveraging their unique strengths to strategically integrate into the supply chain.

As one of Anhui's three major auto parts production bases, Xuancheng was home to over 700 auto parts enterprises by the end of 2024, with an annual output value exceeding 85 billion yuan.  

At the provincial level, Anhui has attracted a full lineup of automakers, including JAC Group, NIO, Chery, Volkswagen Anhui, and BYD, covering domestic manufacturers, foreign giants, and emerging EV startups.  

In 2024, auto parts manufacturers accounted for 60% of the province's automotive industry enterprises and contributed 48% of the sector's total revenue. The vision of "building a complete NEV without leaving Anhui" has become a reality.

Amid the global wave of automotive intelligence and connectivity, Anhui has identified artificial intelligence as a key engine to strengthen its industrial competitiveness.  

Anhui-made vehicles, achieving both quantity and quality growth, have become a flagship export product, with robust logistics support driving their global expansion.  

A multi-dimensional export network has given wings to Anhui's auto industry. In 2024, the province exported 954,000 vehicles (worth 96.14 billion yuan), marking a 30.8% year-on-year increase and securing its position as China's top automotive export hub—contributing 43.5% to the province’s total export growth. Anhui’s automotive "circle of friends" now spans over 150 countries and regions, with one out of every four cars exported from China originating from the province.

Anhui's automotive industry leapfrog is the result of forward-looking strategic planning, ecosystem-wide industrial chain development, targeted regional collaboration, deep technological innovation empowerment, and a global vision. By adopting a "whole-chain mindset" to forge a new industrial ecosystem, Anhui has not only achieved its own "overtaking on the curve" but also provided a valuable "Anhui model" for the transformation and upgrading of China's automotive industry. Amid the profound transformation of the auto sector, Anhui's momentum charges ahead—unstoppable and full of vigor.
