Anhui’s automotive momentum is powerful, with automobile production reclaiming the top spot in the first half of the year.

On August 7, reporters learned from the Anhui Provincial Automobile Office that in the first half of this year, Anhui’s automobile output reached 1.4995 million units, of which 730,900 were new energy vehicles, both ranking first in the country.

Currently, Anhui has gathered seven complete vehicle manufacturers including Chery Group, NIO, Volkswagen Anhui, Hefei BYD, JAC Motors, Hefei Chang'An, and Hanma Technology. The province offers a full range of products including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and special-purpose vehicles, supported by a comprehensive industrial chain. At the parts and components level, there are over 1,100 parts manufacturers above designated size. Anhui is advancing the concentrated development of special-purpose vehicles in northern Anhui vigorously, promoting components industry upgrading and transformation, and enhancing the aftermarket’s quality and efficiency, thus driving the county-level parts industry to grow bigger, stronger, and better.

Electrification and intelligence are new trends in China’s automotive industry development. In terms of share, new energy vehicles in Anhui now account for 47.2%, nearly half the market. According to data, Anhui’s new energy vehicle production exceeded one million units in 2024, reaching 1.684 million units, with 730,900 units produced in the first half of this year. Anhui’s new energy vehicle industrial chain covers the entire spectrum including power batteries, electric motors and controls, intelligent connectivity, lightweight materials, sales and maintenance, and recycling. The reality that “a new energy vehicle can be fully manufactured without leaving Anhui” has now been achieved.
