In the corner park, children are playing and laughing; in the parking lot under the overpass, a car owner smiles as they park their vehicle... Small spaces and little corners hold life's simple joys. 

From visible streetscape details to tangible facility upgrades, Anhui is using the "embroidery needle" of meticulous governance to stitch the people's aspirations for "greater convenience, comfort, and beauty" into the very fabric of the urban development. 

In recent years, the province has advanced comprehensive renovations of old residential communities across its cities and towns. By the end of 2024, a total of 8,614 communities had been upgraded, benefiting 2.2 million households. The holistically improved living environments and supporting facilities now fully meet residents’ diverse and multi-layered lifestyle needs.

Recently, a newly converted parking lot beneath an overpass at the intersection of Changjiang West Road and Qingyang Road in Hefei officially opened for use. "The monthly rent is just ¥200—such great value! No more driving around the neighborhood every day scrambling for parking spots," praised Mr. Li, a nearby resident whose satisfaction highlights the project's success.  

Aligning urban renewal with renovations of old residential communities, our province has guided cities to tailor solutions locally through measures including revamping green spaces, activating underutilized lots, and optimizing landscaping layouts—effectively addressing parking shortages. By the end of May 2025, Anhui had added 1.6549 million new urban parking spaces overall, including 279,700 public spots.

In recent years, Anhui has steadily advanced the construction of pocket parks, making "greenery outside every window and scenery at every doorstep" a daily reality for residents. During the development process, localities have incorporated age-friendly and child-friendly designs by adding activity areas, supplementary facilities, and multicultural spaces. To date, 888 pocket parks have been built across the province. These thoughtfully placed "little pockets of happiness" are bringing convenience and warmth right to the people's doorsteps.   

Simultaneously, urban safety infrastructure projects are accelerating. Leveraging digital technologies, real-time monitoring now tracks municipal systems including water supply, drainage, gas pipelines, heating networks, bridges, and utility tunnels. This enables early detection, warning alerts, and prompt responses to potential hazards, safeguarding smooth urban operations.

Anhui has established a comprehensive "1+16+N" provincial-municipal-county three-tier urban safety monitoring system. 

From gas, water supply, drainage, and bridges to water environment management and elevator safety, the application of urban safety monitoring continues to expand.
