Reporters learned from the press conference held by the Anhui Provincial Government on July 10th that the 17th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th Anhui Provincial People's Congress voted to pass the "Decision of the Standing Committee of the Anhui Provincial People's Congress on Further Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Digital Economy" (hereinafter referred to as the "Decision"), which will be implemented starting from October 1, 2025.

Since the 14th Five-Year Plan, our province's digital economy has grown rapidly, with the annual average revenue growth rate of the core industries in the digital economy exceeding 12%. 

The formulation of the "Decision" is conducive to clarifying the key areas and main directions of development, optimizing the digital economy ecosystem, focusing on strengthening the core industries of the digital economy, promoting the accelerated digital transformation of traditional industries, expediting the emergence of new industries, new business forms, and new models, and fostering the continuous development of strategic emerging industries.

According to the "Decision", our province will focus on the core industries of the digital economy, highlight its unique advantages, clarify key directions, promote concentrated development according to local conditions, and create internationally competitive digital industry clusters such as integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, digital creativity, and new display technologies.

Support will be given to the development of new business forms and models in the digital economy, such as platform economy, sharing economy, and unmanned economy, and the continuous cultivation of future industries in the digital economy, including aerospace information, future networks, and data spaces.

The "Decision" stipulates to accelerate the development of artificial intelligence technology and industry, optimize and enhance the innovation system for artificial intelligence, adhere to the principles of being beneficial, safe, and fair, and support the deployment in key areas such as general artificial intelligence, brain-inspired intelligence, embodied intelligence, and brain-computer interfaces. It also calls for the expedited application of "Artificial Intelligence +" in fields like scientific and technological innovation, industrial upgrading, public services, and social welfare.

Anhui will promote high-quality development of the digital creative industry by supporting the creation of competitive, engaging, and influential premium content, including digital animation, online games, web-based audiovisual programs, digital performances, and digital advertising. Enhance creative industry parks and incubation platforms to attract creative teams and enterprises, fostering more branded creative products.

Anhui will accelerate the development of smart tourism and culture, enhance the digital and intelligent level of the provincial public service platform for tourism and culture, cultivate and develop online experiences and consumption models such as cloud tourism and cloud services, and promote the integrated development of the tourism and culture industry both online and offline. Support the expansion of smart tourism demonstration in the Southern Anhui International Tourism and Culture Demonstration Zone, building new business forms of tourism and cultural consumption that combine virtual and real elements with interactive experiences.

Anhui will intensify the development of smart agriculture, focusing on key areas such as the Jianghuai Granary and the green food industry. Accelerate the promotion and application of digital and intelligent technologies like the Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence, and robotics, enhance the development of the agricultural industry internet, build smart farms, ranches, and fisheries, and continuously generate new quality productive forces in agriculture.
