In the process of advancing the construction of a strong manufacturing province, Anhui is targeting high-end, intelligent, and green development directions. Anhui continues to accelerate the high-quality development of equipment industries represented by robots, computer numerical control machine tools, and new energy vehicles, enhancing the overall strength of the industry and providing strong support for stable growth. 

Equipment manufacturing is a dominant pillar industry in Anhui. To accelerate its upgrading, in recent years, the Provincial Committee and the Provincial Government have identified high-end equipment manufacturing as one of the key strategic emerging industries for prioritized development. A series of policy documents have been rolled out to pool resources and foster its growth. Leveraging the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, Anhui has participated in collaborative  innovation in equipment manufacturing along the G60 Science and Technology Innovation Corridor. Efforts have also been made to guide upstream and downstream enterprises in advancing digital transformation. To refine the roadmap for industrial development and vigorously carrying out "attracting investment and talent", work teams have been established at various levels—1 provincial, 16 municipal, and 112 county-level.

Key support is being provided to seven specific areas, including intelligent robots, industrial machine tools, and medical equipment, with in-depth research conducted on "one chain, one policy." Through the cultivation and growth of key enterprises within the province and the attraction and cooperation with key enterprises from outside the province, in 2024, the high-end equipment manufacturing industry attracted 43 projects each worth over 5 billion yuan.

Industrial machine tools, commonly known as "machine tools," are the core and foundation of the equipment manufacturing industry and a key focus of Anhui's development. By driving industrial innovation through technological advancements, the province produced approximately 9,700 machine tools in the first five months of this year, marking a year-on-year growth of over 20%.

Adhering to the principle of independent innovation plus industrial agglomeration, Anhui is currently rapidly perfecting the equipment manufacturing industry pattern centered on Hefei and Wuhu, forming a "dual core, six bases" industrial layout, resulting in 19 characteristic equipment clusters; industries such as photovoltaic equipment, electrical equipment, industrial robots, computer numerical control machines, and construction machinery are in the leading position in the nation.   

In our province's industrial sector, the machinery industry accounts for approximately 25%-30% of the total output value, with high-end equipment making up about 45% of the machinery industry. The development of high-end equipment has enhanced the overall level of our equipment manufacturing, providing strong support for the overall economic development.  

In the first five months of this year, the added value of Anhui's equipment manufacturing industry grew by 16.6% year-on-year, contributing 79.2% to the growth of the entire industrial sector, an increase of 10.2 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
