In May, Anhui Province's import and export volume with countries participating in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative reached 45.57 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22.8%, marking the highest growth rate of the year and a record high in import and export value. Among them, exports of high-tech products increased by 27.1% year-on-year; imports of high-tech products from countries participating in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative amounted to 3.09 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.3 times. 

In the first five months of this year, our province's import and export volume with countries participating in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative reached 204.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.2%, accounting for 54.6% of the province's total import and export value over the same period. Since October 2024, our province has seen consecutive eight months of year-on-year growth in imports and exports with countries participating in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.  

A growing number of foreign trade enterprises are turning their attention to countries participating in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. According to the latest data from Hefei Customs, in the first five months of this year, our province's import and export volume with countries participating in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative reached 204.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.2%, accounting for 54.6% of the province's total import and export value over the same period. Among them, exports amounted to 133.99 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.9%; imports reached 70.72 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.6%.

From the perspective of product categories, in May, our province exported mechanical and electrical products to countries participating in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative amounting to 21.38 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.4%, accounting for 71.8% of the province's total export value to these countries during the same period. Among them, the "new trio" of products, electronic components, and household appliances were exported for 3.62 billion yuan, 2.33 billion yuan, and 1.85 billion yuan respectively, with year-on-year growth rates of 94.2%, 143.7%, and 22.1%.

Looking at individual markets, in May, our province's import and export volumes with Vietnam, Chile, and Brazil were 4.83 billion yuan, 4.35 billion yuan, and 3.33 billion yuan respectively, with year-on-year growth rates of 155.4%, 109.4%, and 0.6%. 

In the regional market, in May, our province's import and export volume with the ASEAN countries reached 11.96 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 38.5%, accounting for 26.2% of the province's total import and export value with countries participating in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative during the same period. In May, Anhui's import and export volume with South America amounted to 12.21 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.3%, ranking among the top in terms of trade value and growth rate.
