Anhui Tops YRD in Industrial Production Growth

In May, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size in Anhui Province increased by 7.0% year-on-year, ranking first in the Yangtze River Delta region; with nearly half of the contribution coming from the electronic information industry; and mechanical and electrical products accounting for over seventy percent of total exports... On June 19, journalists learned from the Anhui Provincial Bureau of Statistics that in May, the province made remarkable progress in implementing a series of policies aimed at stabilizing employment and the economy, maintaining steady economic operation. 

The data reveals that in May, the province's industrial production sustained a relatively rapid growth, with manufacturing playing a significant supporting role. The cultivation of new quality productive forces has been continuously expanding, leading to an ongoing improvement and innovation in the industrial economic structure. In May, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size in the province grew by 7.0% year-on-year, which is 1.2 percentage points higher than the national average, ranking first in the Yangtze River Delta. From January to May, the cumulative growth was 8.4%, which is 2.1 percentage points higher than the national average, ranking first both in the Yangtze River Delta and among central region. 

The added value of state-holding enterprises grew by 2.9%, that of Share-holding enterprises increased by 8.4%, and private enterprises saw a growth of 6.1%. In terms of industries, among the 41 major industrial categories, 26 industries experienced year-on-year growth in their added value. Notably, the computer, communication, and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry surged by 36.6%, while the railway, shipbuilding, aerospace, and other transportation equipment manufacturing industry grew by 17.7%. The added value of equipment manufacturing rose by 14.5%, and high-tech manufacturing increased by 29.3%, outpacing the growth rate of industrial enterprises above designated size by 7.5 and 22.3 percentage points, respectively. 

Furthermore, the contributions of the electronic information industry and private industry significantly improved. In May, the added value of the province's electronic information industry grew by 36.6% year-on-year, contributing 49.6% to the growth of the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size, marking an increase of 5.2 and 10.7 percentage points compared to the previous month, respectively.

Supported by the gradually increasing contribution of infrastructure investment, the province's fixed asset investment continued to grow. From January to May, the province's fixed asset investment increased by 0.2% year-on-year; excluding real estate development investment, fixed asset investment grew by 4%. Looking at key areas, infrastructure investment accelerated, with a growth rate of 12.4% from January to May, which was 0.6 percentage points faster than from January to April and 6.8 percentage points higher than the national average, contributing 2.5 percentage points to the overall investment growth. Among them, investment in road transport increased by 14.5%, railway transport investment grew by 24.7%, and public facility management industry investment rose by 14.8%. By sector, investment in the primary industry grew by 13.4%, that in the secondary industry increased by 3.3%.

The growth of goods import and export accelerated, with mechanical and electrical products accounting for over seventy percent of total exports. In May, the province's total import and export volume reached 82.21 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.5%, which was 3.8 percentage points faster than in April. Among these, exports amounted to 54.44 billion yuan, growing by 13%; imports were 22.77 billion yuan, up by 38.5%. Within the exported products, the export value of mechanical and electrical products rose by 16.7%, constituting 71.7% of the province's total exports.
