The “520” Anhui Cultural and Tourism Beneficial Consumption Season Kicks Off

On the evening of May 20, the ancient city of Jiuzi by the Qingyi River was bustling with excitement as the 3rd “520” Anhui Cultural and Tourism Beneficial Consumption Season grandly opened at Wuhu Jiuzi Night Tour Performance Town. Hosted by the Anhui Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, this year’s event centers on the theme of “Technology Empowerment and Cross-Industry Integration,” focusing on three key highlights: cultural tourism, technology, and subsidized consumption. It features six major themed activities and supporting benefit initiatives to fully unleash the potential of cultural tourism consumption.

The third “520” Anhui Cultural and Tourism Beneficial Consumption Season will deeply advance the “Culture & Tourism + Hundred Industries” strategy from May to October. It encompasses five major sectors, 20 focus areas, and over 1,700 events—offering themed activities every month and events every week. Meanwhile, consumption vouchers are distributed through coordinated efforts at the provincial, city, and county levels. The government, banks, and enterprises interact to jointly promote cultural tourism consumption, building a new ecosystem of all-region, all-time, and all-people shared cultural tourism consumption.

During this year’s college and high school entrance exam season, Anhui’s cultural tourism sector sincerely invites students nationwide. A total of 169 scenic spots across the province have launched special student benefits. Among them, 8 are 5A-level, 59 are 4A-level, and about 100 scenic spots have pledged free admission for current exam students and half-price discounts for other students.

A core highlight of this season is the “Culture & Tourism + Technology” new consumption scene exhibition, which attracted many visitors. The exhibition, themed “Scenic Views at Every Step, a Feast for the Senses,” features five immersive experience zones including AI interaction, low-altitude flying, and digital cultural creativity. Additionally, more than 30 local Wuhu brands jointly created a “Spark Bazaar,” organically blending technology with the vibrant street atmosphere.

Under the night sky of Jiuzi Ancient Town, the live performance “The Wisdom of Huizhou Merchants” dazzled with flowing light and shadow effects, showcasing the millennia-old commercial heritage intertwined with modern trends, witnessing the vigorous vitality of Anhui’s cultural and tourism consumption.
