On the afternoon of April 17, the Anhui Provincial Government's Information Office held a press conference on the province's foreign trade situation for the first quarter of 2025.

According to customs statistics, in the first quarter of 2025, Anhui's total import and export value reached 215.33 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.1%. Exports amounted to 147.83 billion yuan, up 17.3%, while imports were 67.5 billion yuan, a rise of 4.8%.

In this quarter, Anhui ranked 9th nationwide in total import and export value, improving by one position year-on-year. Its rankings for total import and export, exports, and imports were 9th, 9th, and 11th, respectively, all ranking first in Central China. Anhui's trade grew with 136 countries and regions worldwide.

Notably, the export growth of Anhui's "new trio" exceeded 50%. In the first quarter, exports of electromechanical products reached 106.85 billion yuan, increasing by 19.5%, accounting for 72.3% of total exports. Among these, the "new trio"—lithium-ion batteries, photovoltaic products, and electric vehicles—totaled 17.27 billion yuan, growing by 58.3%. During the same period, Anhui exported automobiles, laptops, and household appliances worth 20.48 billion yuan, 11.47 billion yuan, and 10.13 billion yuan, with respective growth rates of 19.2%, 31.2%, and 15.9%.

In the first quarter, private enterprises continued to be the backbone of Anhui's foreign trade. In terms of the number of operating entities, there are 9,361 private enterprises in Anhui with import and export performance, making up almost 90% of all foreign trade enterprises with records. In terms of foreign trade volume, private enterprises’ imports and exports reached 115.85 billion yuan, up 17.6%, accounting for 53.8% of the province's total foreign trade, contributing 69.6% to the growth of Anhui’s foreign trade.
