A senior official of China's National Bureau of Statistics said during a press conference Wednesday that the country has the confidence and capabilities to address external challenges. He said China is undergoing a major shift in its economic development model, moving away from reliance on investment and export to a focus on domestic demand and innovation. Domestic demand has contributed to over 80% on average of economic growth over the past five years.
