The automotive industry in Anhui is accelerating rapidly, with production reaching new heights. Reporters recently learned from the Provincial Development and Reform Commission that Anhui is focusing on building an internationally competitive new energy vehicle (NEV) industry cluster. It strengthens the drive of technological innovation to industrial innovation. The automotive industry has achieved breakthroughs in many aspects, including industrial scale leap, accelerated transformation to new energy, expanded export volume, and brand upgrading.

In 2024, the output of automobiles in Anhui exceeded 3 million for the first time, reaching 3.57 million, a year-on-year increase of 43.3%, accounting for more than 1/9 of the national total. The production of new energy vehicles broke through the million mark for the first time, reaching 1.684 million, a year-on-year increase of 94.5%, accounting for more than 1/8 of the national total.

Vehicle exports continue to surge, with more "Anhui-made" automobiles heading towards the global market. Anhui's vehicle exports account for 1/4 of the national total. Among them, Chery Group's vehicle export volume reached 1.145 million, refreshing the export record of Chinese automakers and ranking first in the export of Chinese branded passenger vehicles for 22 consecutive years.

The transformation to new energy has been comprehensively accelerated. In 2024, the production of new energy vehicles in Anhui accounted for 47.2% of the total vehicle output, an increase of 12.3 percentage points compared to 2023. The MAEXTRO S800, a cooperation between JAC Group and Huawei, filled the gap in the domestic ultra-high-end intelligent new energy vehicle market.
