As the global supply chain undergoes rapid restructuring, many Chinese companies are expanding into overseas markets at an unprecedented speed and scale. Anhui is no exception. Companies such as Chery Automobile, China Railway No.4 Engineering Group, and Sungrow are accelerating their overseas efforts, whether through local acquisitions, joint ventures, or participation in key overseas projects. How can they expand more efficiently overseas? Anhui has proposed a new solution — “joining forces” for overseas expansion. On December 20, 2024, the Huipai Enterprises International Economic and Trade Cooperation Alliance was established, providing greater potential for Anhui companies’ international ventures. The alliance consists of 94 founding members, with Chery Automobile and China Railway No.4 Engineering Group as the main initiators, along with companies, institutions, and business associations like Conch Group and Tongling Nonferrous Metals. According to the alliance's draft charter, it aims to provide specialized services for Anhui enterprises participating in international economic and trade cooperation, establish a cooperation and exchange platform, promote information and resource sharing, and offer comprehensive support for companies investing abroad and engaging in economic activities, thereby enhancing the international brand image of Anhui enterprises and boosting their overseas competitiveness. In the first 11 months of 2024, Anhui's actual foreign investment reached $2.42 billion, an increase of 14.6%, ranking 8th nationally and 1st in Central China, with a growth rate exceeding the national average by 3.4 percentage points. From January to October 2024, 161 domestic entities in Anhui established 220 new overseas enterprises, a year-on-year increase of 61.8%, with 118 of these entities venturing into foreign investment for the first time. The establishment of the Huipai Enterprises International Economic and Trade Cooperation Alliance lays a promising foundation for Anhui enterprises’ overseas endeavors in 2025. In the new year, as they join hands, they are sure to leave a significant mark for Anhui in even more distant lands.
