To implement the Healthy China strategy and actively respond to the healthy aging strategy, Anhui focuses on the Great Yellow Mountain area, fully leveraging its advantages in science and innovation, ecology, and culture. The province promotes the specialized, clustered, and intelligent development of the health and wellness industry to meet the diverse and high-quality health and wellness needs of the public.

Since 2023, Anhui has been fully committed to creating the Great Yellow Mountain as a world-class leisure, vacation, and health tourism destination. It encourages the coordinated development of Huangshan, Chizhou, Anqing, and Xuancheng cities, achieving an upgrade from traditional sightseeing tourism to modern leisure, vacation, and health tourism. Not long ago, Anhui issued the "Opinions on Supporting the High-Quality Development of the Health and Wellness Industry," focusing on building a number of international comprehensive health and wellness bases with strong influencing power around themes such as health and wellness + elderly care, health and wellness + cultural tourism, and health and wellness + sports.

In September this year, Anhui formally signed an agreement with Shanghai to jointly establish the Yangtze River Delta (Guangde) Health and Wellness Base in Guangde City, Xuancheng. Up to now, 44 key projects including the "Ganxi Health and Wellness Demonstration Village," "Big Health" Industrial Park, and theme parks have been constructed or put into operation one after another. As a national-level forest health and wellness base, Guangde has also created more than ten research and study health and wellness routes tailored for cultural experiences and knowledge needs of the elderly, middle-aged, young, and children this year.

Leveraging advantages in science and innovation, ecology, and culture, Anhui has been promoting the specialized and clustered development of the health and wellness industry. The province strives to form a rich and reasonably distributed health and wellness industry system by 2027, with output value from enterprises above designated size surpassing 400 billion yuan, an average annual growth of over 10%, and the number of such enterprises reaching 4,000.
