On September 11, it was announced at a press conference held by the Anhui provincial government’s press office that, according to the arrangements of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the 2024 International EcoRally Cup (China leg) is scheduled to take place from September 26 to September 30, 2024, in Hefei, Wuhu, Xuancheng, Huangshan, Chizhou, and Anqing. The "International EcoRally Cup" is a top-tier international event created by the FIA specifically for new energy vehicles, aiming to promote the popularity and development of these vehicles through competitive events. Since its inception in 2006, it has been held annually in Europe. This is the first time this prestigious international event will be hosted in Asia, with China being the chosen location and landing in Anhui, making it highly significant. The rally has been meticulously planned, connecting the two major new energy vehicle industry clusters of Hefei and Wuhu. The route will pass through scenic areas such as Taohuatan in Xuancheng, Huangshan Scenic Area, Jiuhua Mountain in Chizhou, and Tianzhu Mountain in Anqing, with both the starting and finishing points set at Luogang Park in Hefei. The total length of the race is approximately 800 kilometers, consisting of five stages. A total of 80 well-known domestic and international drivers will participate in this rally, including 20 international drivers who are past winners of various stages and come from several European countries such as Italy, Belgium, and Spain. The remaining 60 domestic drivers comprise professional racers and some prominent public figures.
