On April 9th, Guangdong Cantonese Opera Institute and Anhui Zaifen Huangmei Art Theater signed a strategic cooperation agreement, using opera as a medium, and initiated a two-way performance exchange. On April 25th and 27th, Cantonese operas "Red-Maned Fierce Horse" and "The Fairy Tale of the White Snake" will be staged at Anhui Grand Theater. Renowned artists and emerging talents from Guangdong Cantonese Opera Institute, including Zeng Xiaomin, Wen Ruqing, Wang Yanfei, Huang Chunqiang, Zhu Hongxing, and Ma Youmin, will present wonderful performances for the audience in Anhui.

On April 25th, the classic Cantonese opera "Red-Maned Fierce Horse" will make a splendid appearance at Anhui Grand Theater. The play is starred by national first-class actor Huang Chunqiang and outstanding young actor Ma Youmin. It will present the touching story of Xue Pinggui and Wang Baochuan, a loving couple who remain steadfast and loyal in the face of adversity.

The newly adapted Cantonese opera "The Fairy Tale of the White Snake" is written and directed by national first-class director Mo Fei. The leading roles are played by the acclaimed artist Zeng Xiaomin, who is a national first-class actor, recipient of the prestigious Wenhua Performance Award and China Drama Plum Blossom Award, along with other talented newcomers who are also national first-class actors, including Wen Ruqing, Wang Yanfei, and Zhu Hongxing. Based on the traditional repertoire of "The Fairy Tale of the White Snake," the play has undergone innovation and development. It revolves around the theme of "love" and offers a youthful, romantic, and beautiful artistic experience through unique artistic techniques.

Since its debut in 2014, the Cantonese opera "The Fairy Tale of the White Snake" has performed in nearly 200 shows, attracting high demand wherever it goes. In 2019, a film adaptation with the same title was released, and in May 2023, it won the "Outstanding Feature Film Award" at the 19th China Film Huabiao Awards.
