Recently, Wuhu City has released the 'Action Plan for High Quality Development of Wuhu Port' to create a port with an annual throughput of 3 million TEUs and accelerate the high-quality development of water transportation.

Wuhu is a major inland port in China and a first-class open port. It is the only port-based national logistics hub in Anhui Province. Seizing the significant development opportunities brought by the opening of the Yangtze-Huaihe Canal, the city aims to comprehensively enhance the overall strength and core competitiveness of Wuhu Port, promote the integrated development of port, industry, and city, and enable Wuhu Port to assume a greater role and make greater contributions in building a modern logistics system in the province.

The action plan focuses on building a container transport system with Zhujiaqiao Port Area as the main hub and Sanshan Port Area and Yuxikou Port Area as secondary hubs. The main contents include four key areas of work: coordinating port-city planning, strengthening infrastructure construction, enhancing route connectivity, and improving service capabilities. It also specifies 47 tasks and specific project lists, with clear responsibilities and completion deadlines for each task. Currently, relevant planning and construction are progressing in an orderly manner.
