Yesterday (Dec 12th), the National Bureau of Statistics announced the annual grain production data for 2022. The sown area of grain in Anhui is 109.713 million mu (about 7.31 million hectares), an increase of 69,000 mu over the previous year; the total grain output is 82.002 billion catties, an increase of 250 million catties over the previous year and has reached a record high. The sown area of grain and total grain output in Anhui still ranks fourth in China. 
The report shows that according to the sample survey of 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and the comprehensive statistics of agricultural production and operation units, in 2022, the total output of summer grain, early-season rice, and autumn grain in 31 provinces (districts and municipalities) reached 1,373.1 billion catties, an increase of 7.4 billion catties or 0.5% over the previous year, setting a new high. It is also the eighth consecutive year that the total grain output has remained above 1.3 trillion catties. Among them, the grain output was 1,266.5 billion catties, an increase of 1 billion catties over the previous year. 
In addition, the national grain sown area was 1,774.98 million mu, an increase of 0.6% over the previous year; the grain output per unit area was 387 kg/mu.
