Anhui Thematic Event of 2022 CIFTIS held in Beijing

On the morning of September 1, the Anhui Thematic Event of the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) was held in Beijing. With the theme of "Service, Cooperation, Green, Sharing," the event shared new opportunities for Anhui's opening up and development, discussed new cooperation in service trade, and further promoted investment and talent attraction in service trade in Anhui.

Trade in services is an essential part of international trade and an important field of global economic and trade cooperation. It also plays a vital role in building a new development pattern.

Fang Xu, director of the Department of Commerce of Anhui Province, introduced that Anhui has service trade relationships with more than 100 countries and regions. Among them, the Asian market is the largest, the European market is growing rapidly, the American market remains stable, and the top five trading partners are Singapore, Hong Kong, the United States, Germany and Japan.

Trade in services has become a significant growth point of Anhui's foreign trade and an essential engine for trade structure optimization.

In 2021, Anhui's trade in services reached 5.97 billion US dollars, an increase of 23.48%, and the growth rate was the 8th in China and the 1st in the central Chinese provinces. Among them, cultural trade increased by 24.6%, import and export of knowledge-intensive services increased by 43.6%, technology import and export increased by 184.1%, and the amount of service outsourcing contracts undertaken and executed by enterprises exceeded 10 billion US dollars and 5 billion US dollars respectively, an increase of 58.7% and 20.4%.
