This summer, the temperature in Anhui province has been very high, and the power consumption increased significantly. As a result, the Jiquan (Xinjiang Jiquan - Anhui Guquan) ultra-high voltage (UHV) transmission line and its branching lines with the world's highest voltage level of ±1,100 kV have been operating at full load.

To ensure the safe and stable operation of the transmission lines, the Wuhu Operation & Inspection Station of Anhui Power Transmission and Transformation Engineering Company, Operation & Inspection Branch, which is responsible for the operation and maintenance of UHV transmission lines in the Wuhu region, actively conducts inspection works through night patrols. Chang Yefeng, the person in charge of the Wuhu Operation & Inspection Station, introduced.

During the night patrol, the apparent temperature was still as high as 32°C. The inspectors at Wuhu Station overcame difficulties such as suffocating heat and mosquitoes and carefully inspected the equipments according to the requirements, focusing on using infrared thermometers to check whether there is redness, heat, discharge, abnormal noise, etc. in key parts such as wires, strain clamps, and armour clamps; carefully record the inspection results, and enter the problems into the system in time.

During the power supply period this summer, the station carried out night patrols six times and inspected 55 transmission towers, guaranteeing high-load safe operation of the ±1100 kV Jiquan Line.
