The reporter learned from the Department of Communications of Anhui Province that the inauguration of the "Jiangsu-Anhui Integrated Ship Inspection Workstation" was recently held on the "No. 1 Pontoon" belonging to the Taizhou Municipal Transportation Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Detachment. It marks the official operation of China's first workstation for mutual recognition and inspection of commercial ships jointly established by two provinces. Now it only takes about one hour to complete the required ship inspections. "It's very convenient. I steered the ship against the pontoon, and the ship surveyor came up to inspect it. It saves time and effort, and I can transport more cargo in the time saved." After docking at the ship inspection station on July 14, the owner of the "Yijia 66" ship, who completed the inspection soon, said. It is understood that the Jiangsu-Anhui Ship Integrated Inspection Workstation is located on the "No. 1 Pontoon" on the north bank of the lower reaches of the Taizhou Yangtze River Highway Bridge. The two units, Anhui Jianghuai Ship Inspection Bureau and Taizhou Transportation Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Detachment, jointly send surveyors to settle there to provide one-stop inspection services for ships passing through Anhui and Jiangsu. When ships from the two provinces pass through the waters near the Taizhou Bridge, as long as they call in advance to apply, they can berth and complete the inspection. "It takes about an hour to complete the inspection, and the shipowner does not need to wait; just come and inspect and leave." Wang Hu, the deputy stationmaster of the workstation, who came from the Anhui Jianghuai Ship Inspection Bureau, introduced that the usual inspection process requires more than three working days to complete. The workstation currently has eight stationing surveyors, who can complete the survey of 20 ships every day. According to estimates, the workstation can provide convenient and efficient ship inspection services for more than 3,000 ships a year, saving many economic and time costs for ship owners. There are more than 70,000 registered ships in Anhui and Jiangsu provinces and more than 2,000 ships registered in Hefei port. The flow of vessels in the region is very active.
