China's Anhui sees foreign trade up 11.8 pct in Jan.-April

HEFEI, May 15 (Xinhua) -- East China's Anhui Province recorded robust foreign trade growth in the first four months of 2022, according to local customs.

The province's total import and export value hit 233.25 billion yuan (about 34.36 billion U.S. dollars) from January to April, up 11.8 percent year on year.

Exports rose 16.4 percent year on year to 135.92 billion yuan, while imports increased 6 percent to 97.33 billion yuan.

During the period, the European Union, the United States, and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations were the top three trading partners for Anhui.

Imports and exports between the province and countries along the Belt and Road soared to 62.78 billion yuan, up 19.5 percent compared with the same period in 2021.

Trade volume between the province and other member states of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership hit 63.22 billion yuan, up 13.5 percent year on year, accounting for 27.1 percent of the province's total imports and exports in the first four months.
