CALB Hefei base phase-I starts production

On October 8, the first phase of the China Aviation Lithium Battery (CALB) Hefei project in Xiatang Town, Changfeng County, with a planned total investment of 24.8 billion yuan (about 3.48 billion U.S. dollars), was officially put into operation. It is understood that the project's second phase will be put into operation by the end of this year. After the project reaches its production capacity, it is expected to achieve an output value of more than 16 billion yuan and create more than 4,000 jobs.

It took less than three months from the signing of the contract to the start of construction of the CALB Hefei base project and only 11 months from the commencement of the project construction to the production. After reaching capacity, it will provide an annual production capacity of 50GWh of lithium-ion power batteries and energy storage systems.

Since the beginning of this year, two 10-billion-yuan level projects of BYD Hefei Base and CALB Base have been put into operation in Xiatang Town, Changfeng County, successively.
