The government of East China's Anhui province unveiled a ten-year plan to boost the development of the robotic industry, aiming to develop the province into a nationally and even globally recognized industrial hub.
The plan proposed two-step development objectives. During the first phase from 2018 to 2022, the province will strive to evolve into a major growth pole of the Chinese robotic industry and grow into a nationally-recognized robotic R&D and manufacturing hub.
Under the plan, the local robotic sector will register more than 70 billion yuan ($10.4 billion) in main business revenue by 2022. Meanwhile, the province will nurture some eight industrial leaders whose main business revenue will exceed 10 billion yuan.
The province aims to increase its annual output of industrial robots to 25,000 sets while produce service robots in small quantity and apply them to medical rehabilitation, domestic entertainment and security check by 2022.
During the second phase (2023-2027), Anhui will strengthen core competitiveness of the robotic industry with the aim of becoming a world industrial leader, the plan said.
By 2027, the province will record over 180 billion yuan in robotic revenue. Cutting-edge industrial and service robots will be produced here. In addition, it will build about 15 industrial leaders.
